Event covered by SADAF HASSAN for Vogue Point
The wedding season has officially kicked off, and just in time, Abu Dhabi welcomed Bride Abu Dhabi, an exhibition and a fashion show that looks like a wedding affair at every corner. It was The Bride Show’s 20th anniversary and as someone who loves clothes, decor, and food, I was very excited to be invited to the event.
Bride Abu Dhabi is an event for all your wedding needs. From bridal dresses to accessories, to décor, to catering, it covers everything a wedding requires. The clothing is not limited to bridal wear; you will also find great picks in jellabiyas, abayas, and other formal wear.
If you or a loved one is getting married soon and would like to shop for some outfits, let me tell you it will not be easy. You will be spoiled for choice.
As I moved around the stalls, I couldn’t decide which designers I liked better as every exhibitor had brought their best work forward.
When it comes to weddings, how can we miss hair and makeup?
I would like to specially mention Blowout&Go, a team that provides hair and makeup
services at the comfort of your home. They give services all over the emirates at very reasonable prices. I really liked the idea of mobile services, particularly for weddings, where time management is the key and stress levels are through the roof.
I got the opportunity to get my hair styled by one of their best stylists, Pierre, who did a great job with my hair in barely five minutes. I would definitely recommend Blowout&Go if you want to cut down on the hassle of running to salons. Don’t worry about the tools, as they are well equipped and bring everything along.
I also got to try some yummy treats by Royal Catering who not only displayed their one of a kind cakes, but also demonstrated cake decoration on the ramp. The baklava was scrumptious and I couldn’t help but take a second helping.
Some of the highlights of the first day included captivating dance performances by AG Concepts, which I enjoyed the most, and a versatile bridal fashion show. Glamourousa displayed their magical wedding gowns at an exclusive fashion show.
Weddings by World Trade Centre probably had one of the grandest of displays, and I couldn’t take my eyes off their setups and floral decoration. You don’t really need a wedding to enjoy all of this.
Saturday will be the last day of the exhibition, and they are saving the best for the last. You will get to witness Amato Couture on the ramp. Amato is an internationally renowned designer who has the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Katy Perry and Shakira in his clientele.
So, if you are planning a wedding or would like to have a friends’ day out, be sure to swing by Bride Abu Dhabi. I had a lot of fun, I’m sure you will too.
