9 Home Remedies For Wheezing

Wheezing is the sound produced when you are breathing. Wheezing is caused by a narrow respiratory tract, which makes breathing difficult. Narrow tract can cause blockages, irritation, infection and asthma.

Here are the home remedies to try for wheezing if it is due to asthma, allergies and bronchitis.

It is always better to consult a doctor first, before trying any treatment at home.


1. Mustard oil
Mustard oil opens the respiratory tract and gets rid of the discomfort that is caused by the obstruction of breath.

2. LemonLEMON
Lemon has a very high vitamin C content and is also a good remedy for wheezing. Lemon has many vitamins and antioxidants which help limit asthma symptoms. All you need to do is just drink a glass of lemon with water every day.

Do not use bottled lemonade.

3. Eucalyptus oil
Pure Eucalyptus oil is one of the natural remedies for wheezing that effectively cures asthma because this oil has decongestant components. It kills mucus. Just put a few drops of oil on a tissue next to your head when you sleep. You can also boil a few drops of oil and inhale. Do this every day if you want to get the best results.

4. Ginger
Ginger is a common spice found in every household. This spice is usually used to treat asthma. To prevent wheezing, you can try one of these methods:

– Mix ginger juice, honey and pomegranate juice in equal parts. Take one tablespoon of this mixture several times a day.

– Mix 1/2 a cup of water with one teaspoon of ginger, drink before going to bed.

– Boil a small piece of ginger in water and for 4 minutes. Let it cool and drink.

– Boil one tablespoon of grass seeds, honey and ginger juice together in water and drink in the morning and evening.

5. Figs
Figs are very good for wheezing thanks to the nutrient content in them. It can limit breathing difficulties, sputum release and improve respiratory health.

Wash three or four dried figs and soak them overnight in water. Eat them in the morning in empty stomach and drink the water in which they were soaked.

6. Garlic
Garlic is an excellent remedy for obstructive conditions and relieves symptoms of asthma as well as wheezing. Boil around three garlic cloves with a little milk, let it cool and drink. You should add garlic in your food to strengthen your immune system.

It is a very effective medicine for wheezing in children. Just Mix honey in a glass of hot water and drink 2-3 times a day. Before going to bed, eat a teaspoon of honey sprinkled with a little cinnamon powder, this helps remove sputum in the throat. This remedy can also improve your sleep.

8. Vegetables and fruits
Blueberries, oranges, strawberries and papaya are nutrient-rich fruits that help protect your health and make you breathe easy. Fruits are full of minerals, vitamins, and important nutrients that fight off wheezing.

9. Onion
Onions have anti-inflammatory effects. It helps decrease respiratory spasm and pneumonia. You only need to eat a little onion every day to open the respiratory tract. You can also cook onions for children to eat.
