A Pot Of Gold In Abu Dhabi – Biryani Pot Review

When the invitation reads “Biryani,” who would say no?

We were invited to a food review at Biryani Pot, the newly opened “fast food” restaurant in Galleria Mall Abu Dhabi.

The posh location and the aesthetically arranged portion in the food court was nothing less than a gourmet delight!

The Biryani is cooked and served, in the traditional way, in an earthen pot that is sealed with dough to keep it warm for long.

Biryani Pot is the only restaurant in Reem Island that caters to all taste buds hungry for delicious Indian food.

What we liked about the menu was that they prepare healthier options like quinoa Biryani as well.

The weight watchers will definitely love their prawn quinoa Biryani option.

I, being a red meat lover, opted for their lamb Biryani.

Even though chicken is the popular choice of meat in majority dishes, I believe that only red meat can do justice to pulao, kabab, biryani and nihari!

So coming back to the delicious food…

…the lamb Biryani was a delight! The melt in the mouth meat was perfectly balanced with the spices.

Besides the speciality, we had also ordered butter chicken, their special mixed grill, samosa chaat and the tamarind fattoush salad.

For drinks and dessert, we tried the mango lassi, lemon mint and the rasmalai.

I don’t eat very spicy food, and everything that Biryani Pot had to offer was not overpowering and mildly spiced.

The tamarind relish added a zing to the fattoush salad.

Other than their signature biryani; can you guess what our most favourite item on the menu was?

It was the samosa chaat! Delectable, flavoursome and a perfect snack item. It is the best food item to try when planning for a starter or a snack to go along with your chai.

The mixed grill was a platter of tandoori chicken, malai chicken and lamb seekh kabab. All the three items were well cooked, and my favourite was the malai chicken. What I will mention here is that the meat was cooked to perfection. It was tender and moist.

The saffron infused rasmalai and the butter chicken were delightful and balanced in taste.

The head Chef Cham Kumar, who has been working with the company for 8 years, told us that his chicken biryani is the fastest moving item on the menu. Trained in Delhi, the Chef surely has a conventional approach to cooking.

We got a chance to speak with the restaurant manager Jaison George. With big names attached to his profile, Jaison brings with him his expertise and experience of eleven years in the food industry.

He told us that Biryani Pot is a casual dining restaurant with four branches. The menu has been specially prepared after a lot of trials and caters to a wide range of customers.

With a high-end feel and excellent food, Biryani Pot is a must-go place if you are in the capital.
